Dear Friends of Maine Youth
I am writing to ask for your support of The Greenland Point Center’s Annual Fund Drive. Established in 2004, we are a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to ensuring that Maine children will have the opportunity to learn of our natural resources and traditions through Greenland Point’s conservation education, as hundreds of children have done before.
Donations to Greenland Point are tax deductible and can be focused in several areas:
- Capital Campaign
While we were successful in securing the buildings and property, it did come with a price tag of $540,000.00. This must be paid within two years to our benefactor to avoid costly loan and interest charges. We are hoping for Corporate and other sponsors in this area and, also, investing in present and future buildings.
- Programming, Equipment and Operating Expenses
Our reputation is built upon the quality of our programs and staff. We are investing in our children’s future by continually improving our programs, training our personnel, and upgrading our equipment to meet our high safety requirements. A partial listing of needed equipment can be found at our Website www.greenlandpoint.com .
We are expanding to include adult outdoor recreation and education, retreats for businesses and families, seminars, team building and challenge workshops plus conference and meeting facilities.
Our summer programs, Conservation Camp for ages 10-14, “Wet-N-Wild” for ages 8-12 and Maine Waterways Adventures for ages 13-16 all cost $500.00 for a week’s outdoor experience. Our Winter Conservation Camp, ages 10-14, is $100.00 for a three day experience. This is very reasonable compared to other camps, but many children need scholarships in order to attend. We service many “at risk” children and teach a part of the “Hooked on fishing, not on drugs” program.
Financial support is imperative from businesses and individuals like you who believe in investing in our youth’s future through protecting Maine’s natural resources.
Thanks for your consideration and remember all contributions are tax deductible...
